Happy Equinox Day

The monochrome landscape is now in technicolor,
Marriage of Ra and Gaia, the offspring is reincarnated.
Daylight increasing, leave the lights off a little longer,
Everything prior matters not, a new day has been created.
The peak of life, everything is most active in the heat shimmer,
Everyone’s gone to the ocean, diving in search of Atlantis.
A chaotic atmosphere breeds violent storms, always unpredictable,
Burn under the sun, from May to September, the light never grows dimmer.
The smell of death permeates the air, the pace begins to slow,
The vibrant technicolor fades away, leaving a decaying pallette.
Dying breaths swirl the corpses of leaves, as the daylight decreases,
Wear your best melancholia, finally in bloom, is a depressive mindset.
Darkness swallows everything, embers of life are stomped out,
Can’t see the curvature anymore, the horizon is unbearably white.
Burn in the polar night, the mercury becomes negative and depressed,
Frost grows on the bone, never to thaw in the absence of Ra’s light.

Definitely a bit of a gloomy feel to this one, MW. But the world just keeps on turning.
I love the poetry of the changing seasons. And how appropriate seeing as we just had Autumn Equinox. I shall now refer to my cozy scarves and sweaters as “my best melancholia”.
Great work. Truly.
