We are fed what they want to feed us.

I’ve been recently debating whether or not I believe this statement. I have come to a conclusion, but before I give you my answer, I want to give you the points that gave me my answer, and then at the end, you may or may not agree.

Anyway. Let’s get to it.

How many times have you woke up, turned on the news and saw, ‘Breaking News!’ Yeah. Obviously, the breaking news is for the most recent things that the news company has heard of, something that happened throughout the night, you get the jist. However, if the event that happened throughout the night was that the government killed someone because they knew too much, would they broadcast that? In my opinion, of course not! Why would they? To tell us how our government actually works? You may not agree, but, can you even think of one reason they would tell it to us? I can. Fame. But they wouldn’t broadcast it for the fame. Because if they did, the government would find out. And I don’t think they would be very happy.

Also, how would the news show even obtain evidence that this happened? That’s why they always have information to back up their statements to no-one can call them out, much unlike the average person. When you are in the middle of the conversation, you don’t have much time to, as they say, ‘Think before you speak.’ Of course, you should always think, ‘Will this hurt anyone?’ But, news channels have usually have hours to script their shows, the hosts usually have hours to minutes to learn their lines, and for the camera people, well. They’re just doing improv. Now back to my earlier question, are we being fed the information they want us to know?

Yes! Of course, there are going to be people who don’t agree. And there are going to be people who do. Whichever side you are on, you can agree on one thing: they don’t tell us everything. They may tell us more than we think, they may tell us less, but they don’t tell us everything. And we probably won’t ever know. Let me know what you think, and I’ll try respond. Thanks for reading!
