SENSIBLE DAWNS

Feel like numb under the sun, when up on a Monday morn,

Hear music on the radio, melody hums of a sensible dawn,

Motorway news, chaos or broken down cars,

Accident or traffic or incident on a sensible dawn,

The sun still shines, growing all the time, filling the sky,

Kiss from the moment of surrender, forgetting last night,

Do not be afraid, lady, a new day has come, another sensible dawn,

Wipe those eyes and wash that face, after one more yawn,

Get dressed to go.  To work, to shop or some other dawn calling,

Walk to car, or race for the bus, skip down to the village or town,

The clouds are high, the sun is out, on a lovely morn,

Go my friends, go and live, on your sensible dawn.
