In the fictional country of Anaria, orphaned Raquelle lives with her adopted mother, Ani, in the poor village of Vyseren. They struggle to survive amongst the fictional Leoken people, who are slowly invading and taking over Anaria. After a particularly bloody incident, Raquelle meets Erik, a boy determined to retrieve his sister from the Leoken and Emilia, a girl with a past who strives to start a new life. Together they will do the unthinkable, and just maybe save their country from doom.
