I dodge, I lean, I shout and scream,

As zombies pass like leaves in a stream.

They stare blankly as they pass me by,

With no love in their hearts or life in their eye.

I try to snap them out of their meaningless plight,

Only to be met with resistance and blight.

With no instance of affection they stagger and stand,

With expressionless faces as they stare at their hand.

Is this what we’ve become, the elite creatures of the earth?

A sack of nothingness without any worth?

I’ll stand in this ocean and plead to the wind,

For time to reverse, before humanity came to an end.

Until my wish becomes reality, I will sit on these stones,

And watch the zombies stare mindlessly at their phones.

For creatures so connected they sure are apart,

With their lack of compassion and no love in their heart.

The addiction is spreading, I feel myself fall back,

My phone reconnects as I fight the react.

I am overwhelmed, my sight quickly glazes over,

The thoughts that once were are now lost in the smolder.

My phone reconnects to the land of the www,

My mind becomes mush, my freewill follows suit.

The glitches that had freed me was fixed with an update,

I could of stopped this madness but now it’s too late!

I’m back with the others, where I belong,

What was I saying...oh look, a new song.
