I can tell a story-

Through the eyes,

Through the feet.

And you can hear a story

Through the creaking, cracking,

whipping branch-in-wind beat.

So tell us a story-

One by the river,

And another by the tracks.

Take down The Wall

So we can take a step

Back and forth the empty

rocking chair sings

And alone on the wall a painting

of things..

Ships in cannon and houses in bloom..

Take down the wall!

Oh haven’t you heard?

Creaking of floorboards cracking the

ice whipping of thoughts,

I can tell a story whether you like it or not..

But what I cannot do easily,

when it matters the most,

is ridding myself of The Wall-

my concrete, stop-all-of-functioning ghost.

So dim light I breathe through,

Scattered papers, my clothes

My eyes even though I haven’t

done what I’ve been told.

See now, I can tell a story-

Through closed eyes,

Through blanket feet- yes..

And you can hear a story

Through the shaking neurons of my

dream-sleep beat
