A New Slant On Falling Leaves written by Derina Penn

The Sun is taking off to the South
The departing Summer
Is kissing the Autumn Goodbye.
He left a bottle of
Gold Amber wine
For Autumn to drink.
Now she is turning herself
Into yellow and red;
Singing a breezy song
From her divine homestead.

Leaves are falling
Just to thicken the carpet
So the drunken Autumn
Will not hit hard
Or totally fall apart;
And her offsprings
Can have a golden bed
To grow and restart.
