Do you ever have that moment when you're talking to someone and you mentally put an expiration date on your friendship? You're just sitting there thinking, "I give this a year". Okay maybe I'm the only one and maybe you think it's a sad way to live. But all relationships have an expiration date. Once you accept that, you can't help but wonder what each one is.

I don't think it's a sad, and I'm not angry about it. It's just life. Anytime something happens that frustrates me or makes me want to scream "but why?", I tell myself that everything that happened needed to happen and it couldn't have been any other way. It keeps me from looking into the past. Friendships aren't meant to last your lifetime and trying to push an expiration date (especially in romantic relationships), just ruins the experience all together. Its like trying to drink spoiled milk. Some people convince themselves that the milk still has some time and other stay drinking rotten milk and forget what fresh milk tastes like.

Now I prefer to throw the milk out before I even have to do the sniff test. What's wrong with the sniff test? Nothing, but we're talking about relationships. If you have to do the sniff test on your relationship, it's too late.  I'm not saying throwing milk away is an easy thing to do. I'm sure you have several cartons of spoiled milk in your fridge. That's just the problem with having too much.

You'll find mostly fresh cartons in my fridge. Maybe there was some I prematurely threw away. Don't look in the freezer though, there's one carton I've never been able to get rid of. We don't go in there though, your freezer is only for you. Put a lock on it, pretend it's not there, or show it to someone close to you. You can do whatever you want with the freezer... except empty it.
