“AHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Basil screamed in frustration when he got out of the empty theatre. “That was my one chance to pursue my career in theater and I BLEW IT!!!” He started crying as he called his friend, Edwin.

“eDiWIn!!!!” He yelled, mad at himself. “I blew it! What should I do?”

“I don’t know, Basil. I’m kind of busy performing open heart surgery on the president of Mars,”

“Oh,” Basil said. He had forgotten that Edwin was a surgeon who performed open-heart surgery exclusively on foreign presidents. “But what should I do?”

“I’m not sure! Go join the FBI or something!”

“Ok.” Basil said and hung up. He figured he might as well. After all, he did have a phD in law enforcement.

After a quick drive to Washington, D.C, Basil finally got to the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

“Knock knock!” He said happily, running up to the glass doors. “I’m here for my job interview; I called a few hours ago!”  An agent opened the door.

“The hell? You’re a giraffe?” He asked, confused.

“Yes I am, and don’t call me surely!” He said, realizing his mistake but choosing to ignore it.

“And what do you think qualifies you to work here?” The agent asked.

“Well, I have seen quite a few episodes of the Flash, so I’d say a lot of things,” Basil said happily. The agent raised his eyebrows. “Oh yeah!” he said, just remembering something. “ I also have a phD in law enforcement! I graduated top of my class! My mawma was so proud of me!”

The agent pursed his lips. He knew how difficult it was to get that sort of degree. “What else do you bring to the table?” He asked, hiding his shock.

“Well, my memories a little rusty but I also think I have a phD in forensic studies, as well as policing and investigation,”

The agent’s jaw dropped. “That- Alright. I’ll think about it,”

“It took me an entire TWO years to get them!!!” Basil said, holding a hoof to his head in disarray. The agent looked around uncomfortably.

“Let me speak to my superior.” He said, already walking away. Basil waited.
