Not The Wisest Choice

Not the wisest choice to wander

in these deeply blackened woods;

to all the tales that have been told -

listened well, you should.

Instead you came out walking,

treading upon my land;

fool you were, for honor,

it ensures I make a stand.

Out now in the clearing,

you have no option to escape

for I will be before you

no matter which way you should take.

Not one word needs to leave my lips

for you are horror-struck,

entirely in my power

for your very feet are stuck.

I’ll loom right up before you

and then I’ll appear to grow,

you’re captive and you cannot flee

from raven, rook and crow.

When every tiny piece of you

is something truly haunted

we’ll take a step to let you leave,

no moment now not taunted.

I’ll permeate your every thought,

I think that you will find

that taking those so foolish steps

has gone and cost your mind.
