my words lack conviction

there is absolutely nothing that i could say

that would intimidate you into hurting me

i want to be tattooed with your abrasive nature

i want your sharpened words

to carve shameful names upon my ribs

fracturing them until they too wish me harm

and force themselves into my beating heart

and a pastel of colors intertwined with soul

canvas my body both inside and out

and i rival timeless art

in suffering and death
