It was a warm Christmas night

And the snow-cones were bright

On the neon sign

At the convenience store.

The air was so dry,

There was not a cloud in the sky.

Then I spied some movement

On the rooftop, next door.

I would have preferred to let it be

But I'm security, you see,

So I'm obliged to investigate

Every movement, unknown.

So toward the rooftop I went

But the fire-escape, it bent,

Then I fell without grace

With a yelp and a grown.

On the way down

I heard a very odd sound

Then I felt the pain

Where the sun doesn't shine.

I was in the midst of a wedge-ie,

A magical wedge-ie,

That somehow saved me

Just in time.

I was hanging by my belt

It's not the best I've ever felt

But better a wedge-ie

Than to be smashed on the ground.

Then I heard bells ring

And one other thing

There were Reindeer and a Santa

Flying 'round, and 'round.

"It's a wonder you’re not dead,"

The Fat-man said,

"If not for my sky-hook

Attached just in time.

And as he flew away

I heard Santa say,

"Merry Christmas to all

And to all a yule rhyme!"
