Outlander

Someone, somewhere,

Had such a name.

Somehow, something,

Took away your fame.

Outlander, outlander,

Where is your shame?

Strutting into town,

A picture without its frame.

Outlander, outlander,

Can you see out of that mask?

Your complexion is dark,

Your youth is going fast.

Outlander, outlander,

What’s out beyond the wall?

The nightmare is real,

There are faces in the hall.

Outlander, outlander,

Can you speak without words?

Is it true you have no mouth,

Do your pleas go unheard?

Outlander, outlander,

Can you tell us what’s the score?

Did we beat them to the grave?

Did we win the final war?

Outlander, outlander,

Why did you survive?

Better men are lost,

When the worst is still alive.

Outlander, outlander.

That’s all you’ll ever be.

A man with no name,

Who calls himself free.

Outlander, Outlander,

The story has been reset.

The faces have been erased,

The wall has been built,

The memory of the last leaves no trace.

Outlander,

Outlander.

Turn back the clocks,

A cold ring on a coffee cup.

The night has gone,

The morning has come,

It’s time to wake up.
