I dreamed.

There was something wrong with the city.

The political, social, and economic, situation in Washington, DC, shattered all thoughts of peace; the peace didn't last because of the New York killer. 

I didn't like to wait for the dreaded phone call from the Sheriff; I didn't need to see the 2:00 AM call on my new digital clock that was on my mahogany dresser in my bedroom. I kept a baseball bat underneath my bed. My parents were interested in their daughter's welfare. "It's better to be safe", Mom said. 

"The Sheriff is a phone call away", Dad stated.

"They come to me, Dad", I explained to him. 

And, that was the point, wasn't it.
