With a candle lit cake awaiting my harsh blow

And transit presents adoring the table,

Each year passing by only dulls my glow;

Loosening the strands of my cable

connecting the body and the soul,

like a slow poison taking effect.

Every moment’s burning a hole

-in my lifetime, that am trying to protect.

The time past blows away like dust;

With signs of ageing only growing everyday

And my body trying to contain the soul’s wanderlust,

Immortal youth can never be the gift of my birthday.
