Bright red scarf over my face

I step out to the stillness

Of the fresh fallen snow

Everyone sleeps, I am alone.

Inside a snow globe

That has been shaken and stirred

Under the streetlamps

Snow flurries flutter down

Like silent fairies kissing my face

And tickling my nose

White sculptures adorn the landscape

Artistically shaped by unseen hands

Blanketing the blemishes of my world

Silencing the echoes of my past

If only for just a while

There it is, that special moment

A divine serenity absorbed by the silence

All consuming, all encompassing

A timeless bubble of ... What?

Purity? Enchantment? Illusion?

A car passes by piercing the silence

Blemishing the canvass with scars

Shattering my globe

Mocking my complacency

Leaving my soul with bloody shards

But time has a steady hand

The Artist is forgiving

And I am patient

The tracks will be covered once more

And I will be healed
