A box

A simple box,

A gift from the God's,

To me.

They told me never

To open it,

Never to see

What was inside.

But why?

I am the first woman,

I am special,

This box must surely

Be beneath me.

Why give me a gift,

That I am forbidden

To attain?

What could possibly

Be inside

That is so above me?

The jewelry of which

I already wear?

Powder, when I am

Already fair?

A bundle of diamond's

For my hair?

I will show the

God's that my

Perfect porcelain

hand's were made for

Such thing's.

It is only a box

A simple box,

A gift from the God's,

To me.
