The Beginning

A poem that beautifully portrays how changes can lead to new unexpected beginnings!

I used to watch the moon above me

So bright and light to see

On top of my cabin’s roof

There was no need for any proof.

Whilst the stars glistened

I sat and listened

To the echoes of tomorrow

How I wished I could grab them and borrow.

The cold everlasting night

Filled my instincts with fright

The deep horizon glared

As a new beginning was declared.

The sky turned twilight purple

The lakes burned and gurgled

My cabin shook and trembled

Whilst the ground crumbled and leveled.

Water currents protruded everywhere

Touching every corner

Grasping every border

Solid curtains covering everything humans had ever known.

Was it humanity’s end?

Was it time for history to bend?

Amend what must be amended.

Tend what must be tended.

I was submerged into a wild current

My whole body was taken away through a torrent

I felt a change

Everything seemed so strange.

My eyes opened, I could breathe

I was 30 meters deep down underneath

Glancing at modern subaquatic cities

Everything so cornered, how witty.

People could breathe and swim

Although the light above was somehow dim

Life turned us into sirens

What a miracle for science!

It was a new beginning

A challenge for us livings

Had life possessed a new meaning?

Or had I just died while dreaming?

As a fantasy poem, it is very good; and the rhyming is first class. Hope to read more from you.

An interesting topic. I didn't see where it was going until near the end so neat twist. The rhyming was also good.

Per your quickie request, read it. Rhyming rolls off the tongue little miss.

Gorgeous poem. Every end is simultaneously a beginning as well, that’s what I’m getting from this.

That was a cool poem. It had good imagery. I liked how you started out in the roof of the cabin and ended at the bottom of the sea. That was so cool. I like it.

Could you please read my story Bare Feet.
