There once was a cat named Jack
He had a mind of his own
He traveled where
Ever he cared
And often
Didn’t come home

I discovered him
One Sunday morn
Tired and depressed
I asked him why
Or for an alibi
Here’s what he confessed

I went to visit a lady friend
We stayed up half the night
I told her tales of ships and sails
And everywhere I’ve been
But when I leaned in for a kiss
The night came to an end

I said I’m just a kid you know
My experience is light
In ways of love
I have no clue
But this is what I would do
To try to make it right

Bring her presents wrapped in bows
Perhaps a catnip scented rose
Compliment her starry eyes
Her purr and charming pose
Tell her to be content
That your roaming days have closed
