‘Oh How I Wish’

From the window the little lambs she sees

As past they go with too much speed.

‘Oh how I wish a little lamb I owned.’

Mummy says to sheep they’ll grow

And little lambs no longer be.

With a face forlorn and dreams been dashed

She turns and asks.

‘Mummy are you sure that to sheep they’ll grow

And little lambs to be no more.’

‘We all grow up, even you my dear.’

She knew that one day she’d be big

And a little girl no longer be,

But oh how she wished a little lamb to own

And a big wooly sheep not to grow.
