City Johannesburg

Under the sunlight where the racks and stacks of the city dwells. Where true kings hide behind suits and the shadows of the city.
Under the moonlight where kids came out to play in the rusty beautiful city where the youth is blinded by the bright lights and flashy cars,
But just like any adventure, sometimes you never really know what you're getting yourself into.

And so I've shared a couple of moments with you by your side and it's always been a thing of like...

When you meet somebody special it's like these hours turn to minutes, weeks into days and years into months. I remember driving more than 800km just to see you
It was always beautiful, you always shown a smile without a dent. Fair to say it was always perfect from a side view

I was still young and clueless, lingering to the sound of your tempting voices
Saying "please come back to me again"
Sounding like jingle bell songs on Christmas day every time I came back
You welcomed me with your arms wide open,
it felt like a mother's love.
Singing beautiful love songs and angelic voices as back up singers that clearly did a great job
Because I kept coming back year in and year out

I gotta say though...
that what the eye sees is real
What the heart feels is true
And what goes through the ear is blunt
But what is said with the mouth stays
And a part of me always wondered why you never said much,
With the aching and screeching pain inside of my chest longing to speak to you, you still never uttered a single breath.

But now I understand

I understand why you'd rather keep to yourself
Because every word you share seems to be shattered in air molecules

I understand why you'd rather keep to yourself because every breath you take is infiltrated by the darkness and lack of awareness of these poor beings

I understand why you'd rather keep to yourself because when all is destroyed, you hang on the little you got, you treasure and handle it with care because it's fragile

But sometimes you just take and you just keep taking. There's no comparing what they have done to you with the lives you've taken, swallowed every single one of them like a vampire thirsty for blood and you just waited and waited. Sometimes you'd run out of patience because drug addicts can't survive that long without a fix.

But I guess it's a give and take kinda thing, because you have little or nothing to show in the day time anymore like you used to, but the beautiful lights and amusing night clubs justify for all that's missing.
