Stitch and Sew

I’m going back to the ‘stitch and sew’.

Pre-holed canvas,

charts all marked with symbols,

and colored thread provided.

Not much need to think, you know;

just thread the needle,

mark off squares.

Instructions given,

all I have to do is follow.

I gave up before,

when no one much wants the results

it gets hard to carry on;

hours and hours,

folded up and packed away.

But it numbs the mind,

and isolation fits it well;

the only aggravations

are knots which can be cut out,

or mistakes that can be undone,

unlike life.

Time to retreat,

take a back seat

and return once again

to the stitch,

to the sew.

TheGothicUndying

This is like reinvention after a part of your life failed. You try again in a different way, hoping to improve, hoping to go further than the last try. All of us have been there. I'm no exception. Once the first mistake has been made, it's a new stitch and sew. The thing about real life is that there are no instructions. A harsh reality. You capture this perfect with your words.

Yeah, the problem with sewing things up is that the fabric has already been weakened and is far more likely to just rip apart again.
