Where does life lead? My painting "Peacock Villa"

We wake to wonder what will be,

As the day is yet to see,

What will unfold and lay before us,

A rank discord or chiming chorus?

Each path we take determined where,

Our choice in life for each to bear.

For some, a quiet contemplation,

but others a frenzied agitation.

By peaceful waters still and gently,

Or hurried pedestrians march intently.

To seek the solace of the day,

Or tooth and nail, into the fray.

Some have no choice but to fight,

To have the same societies right.

Privileged ones who blythely daze,

On lowly strugglers through the haze.

Yes status is a qualifier,

Separating "Haves" and those in mire.

But if we give to those without,

Enriching life, without a doubt.

So open hearts must give to them

That hopelessly have given in.

The path is narrow, I am told

That, see the pitfalls of the gold

And steal the hearts of greedy men,

A hording life that is a sin.

So take the path that is for sharing,

An open heart is made for caring.
