A few lines I put together when I was inspired by the beauty of Positano whilst on holiday.

Positano

Pastel coloured houses built deep into the cliffs hue over looking a stunning sea of green and blue. An ode of beauty and delight from early morning until late into the night. Stairways steep from mountain top to seabed and pebbled rock. Positano was Steinbeck place to dream from lobster pot to tasty ice cream.

Mercedes, buses and scooters travel up and down the narrow winding street as pedestrians explore the cafes and chic boutiques. You can bye art and craft, try on local cotten wears, eat Compania’s foodie treasures or have a pair of sandals made to measure.

You can walk the ‘Walk of Gods’ high into the mountain with lemon trees, wild orchids and inspirational fountains. You can swim in the warm sea, clamber on rocks, hide in hidden caves or simply sit on the pebbled beaches and drink fresh lemonade. Positanos breathtaking views are dream like and euphoric and you quickly understand why Steinbeck took paper and pen to hand.

You can watch the sun go down as the grand yachts rest in the bay, whilst their owners are out at play. ‘Music on the rocks’ is the place to be seen. The warm sand alluding to the night as corks pop and the sea twinkles bright. The air intoxicatingly compelling! or maybe that's the cocktails? Positano seems to be born from the palette of a painter intent on giving pleasure no matter what the weather. As Steinbeck said ‘Positano bites deep’

Thank you. Positano is a very inspiring place. If you find yourself in Italy it’s well worth a visit as is all of the Amafi coast.
