There is a precarious castle in Penny’s woods

It is bent on all sides, and not straight, as it should.

Its center is oval when it should have been round

Its foundation is a stream-bed, and that's not solid ground.

I inquired, of a Woodman, who the builders might be.

He said, "Tis three doofus brothers who never agree!

If one brother builds left, then the other builds right,

And the third brother, he builds, only at night!"

And where are they now, those whimsical three,

Those builders of a castle that is bent like a tree?

He laughed and he said, "They’re in the castle, no doubt,

'Cause all the doors Swing-in, but no door swings out!"
