The writing was pretty spot on, I intended to read the rest of this and review this chapter tomorrow but found it so exhilarating that I decided to go ahead and review the first chapter which I think is very well written and both sensual and sadistic.

The first chapter reminded of something of a Jane Austen pastiche written by someone who was a fan of the Marquis De Sade. Though there is a definite and distinct Freudian nightmare element to the setting.

I will read more and did enjoy it, though I worry depending on what direction it is taken that it will either become an NC-17 version of twilight. Or, a very well written body horror/torture porn style of story. but just reviewing the first chapter I find that it riffs on the themes of most of clive barkers work. without indulging in some of his bizarre pacing issues or desire to make the romantic picturesque out of truly depraved instincts that drive some of his creations in a way that seems silly. At least from someone on the outside looking in.

I am still amazed though at how gripping the actual writing is. good job. I hope to read more in the future.

Really great story. I love the fact that Lana's mother sold her out to save her boyfriend and then lost him. I'm going have to continue to read to find out what the demons have in store for their captives.
