Have you ever looked in the eyes of someone kind?

It is a rather telling sight.

Look henceforth hind,

and think of stranger who did truly right.

Did you look in their eyes,

those that hide the lies?

Like shadows they play.

Emphasising the light in our lot,

Out of sight they stay,

taking with them the rot.

Did you look in their eyes,

those whose hearts are infinite in size?

How merry they must be,

to fight the dark with smile sweet.

Those who make us see,

that shadows are all too fleet.

Have you ever looked in the eyes of someone truly kind?

If you ever take upon yourself this mystery,

you might not like what you find.

For they are filled with misery.
