It was I

It was you

We enter the tunnel

No more light in view.

The likeness of darkness

Seized up in starkness.

Lucky for me—

You brought the lantern o’ Light.

The times, they were troubled

Surrounded by bitterness.

Our minds were befuddled

We cried for deliverance.

Mental war brewing

Our progress undoing—

But in spite of the times—

We carry the lantern o’ Light.

It shines through the tunnel

Provides hope for the times.

It solves life’s great puzzle

Expands small confines.

From one to the next

Subject to subjects.

It comes and it spreads

It’s the lantern o’ Light.

A Lighthouse for sailors

A branch in the water

The angel of Light

God’s holy daughter.

Unalienable right

Shines a spotlight

Through the dim, dark night.

We hold the Lantern o’ Light.
