Through It

By: John Owens

Through troubles and hardships.

Through torture and pain.

Through love-fights and hard nights.

Through darkness and rain.

Through thick walls and mountains.

Through fog and through mist.

Through petty wars, bloodbaths,

and disaster we dismiss.

Through sickness, through sadness.

Through famine and drought.

Through all the things we thought that maybe

someday we might just live without.

It’s all still here,

but one thing is clear.

There’s a message,

like a bell,

ringing loud! Drawing near!

And if, dear friends, you just opened your ears

you might hear it.

I’m rising.

Are you rising?

We should all rise and see,

that there is Goodness.

Enough for eternity.
