Breaking it only exists in the mind

Box a nigga in a zone of alienation, and throw the key into the Chesepeake,

Shot on sight if you dare to step outside, breaking the law and the quarantine.

Worldwide phenomenon, fear and anxiety spreads from Maryland to Mozambique,

Safe inside four pristine white walls, sanitized two times a day, at minimum.

70% isopropyl applied topically every hour, latex gloves just to pump gas,

Mask on when anxiety gets too high, skin fissuring via intense water erosion.

Society flash froze with the vegetables, the status quo is forever broken,

Normal died four months ago, we’re living in the rotting corpse of the old world.

Introverts and homebodies rejoice, socially acceptable to click “Add To Cart”

Without the stigma of being anti social, in a new era of social distancing.

Involuntarily held hostage, literally we’re in the thick of it, witnessing

History online, no one what happens after, right now it’s all speculation.

I really like your style of writing. This felt like a song to me.. But a sad one though. This time we're going through is so tough. Let's hope the redemption is nigh.

Thanks Bright, I based my writing style around songwriting, it felt the most natural for me. During this time I've found it difficult to really write about anything, my mind just can't get cleared enough. Hopefully it passes sooner rather than later, thanks for reading Bright!

People are beginning to live my life, MW. Hopefully not for long or a lot of them are going to go crazy with cabin fever. Excellent poetry.

Yeah Ii can feel that, haha, I'm much more introverted so I'm not entirely opposed to staying inside the house a little more. Thanks for reading Hully!
