From Slaves Of Sin To Sons Of God

The blood of Jesus on the cross redeemed us from being slaves of sin to sons of God. Not just sons but heirs with Christ Jesus according to Romans 8:17 which says, And if children, then heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. [NKJV]. What is an heir though? An heir is a beneficiary of the property of another. 

This means that whatever belongs to Jesus belongs to us as well. The bible says we are seated together with Christ Jesus in the heavenly places according to Ephesians 2:6 which says, ...and hath raised us together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. [KJV]. We are Sons of God.

Before Christ died for us on the cross, God the Father had only one Son Jesus and we were slaves to sin according to the sins committed by Adam and Eve. But, after we were redeemed by the blood of Jesus which He shed on the cross, God adopted us as His dear Sons. Romans 8:14 says, As many are led by the Spirit of God, those are the sons of God. 

How did we receive Jesus? By confessing with our mouth that Jesus is LORD and believing with our hearts that God raised him from the dead. With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation and believing with the heart made unto righteousness.. (See Romans 10:9-10.

What is an heir? An heir is a beneficiary of the property of another. This means whatever belongs to Jesus belongs to us as well. The Bible says in the book of Ephesians chapter 2 verse 6, "And hath raised us together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. This means that we are seated together with Christ in the heavenly places and we are Sons and heirs with Christ.

But, after we were redeemed by Jesus's blood on the cross, God adopted us as His sons. John 1:12 says, as many as received him and believed in his name, he gave them the right to become the children of God. Romans 8:14 support this as it says, As many are led by the Spirit of God those are the sons of God.

Now that you know you are a son, stop accepting to live a life of a beggar or a slave. You are child, a son of God and heir with Christ. The Bible says in the book of Matthew 7:11, If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him.

Some of us still have the tendency of begging God for something in prayer. You hear them saying, "God please do this for me" yet His Word says we are His sons. Can a son beg his father or he just asks and receive whatever he ask for. It is high time we change our approach and behave like His Sons. You are no longer a slave to sin but a child, a son and a heir with Christ. Whatever Christ owns, you own as well because you are His beneficiary, Hallelujah!
