I want to settle
like dust covering
the surface of
old sturdy furniture
laying over book spines
atop pages and covers
comfortably linger
nestled in the corner
of a quiet room
content after momentum
like soot spread about
after a fire.

I liked your poem. But with dust, you will have to deal with dust mites nibbling on you. I'd go with soot.
