Why Should Not The World Be Perfect

Why should not the World be perfect

And to smell always of the fragrant rose,

Why should not children, in their innocent World

Be the truth and where everyone goes.

Why should not summer always be here

And to shine on an Eden of love,

Why should not grass always be green

And a perfect blue sky be above.

Why should not flowers be always in bloom

And the butterfly always to live,

Why should not we accept without doubt

The innocence that children do give.

Why should not every woman be

In her virtue and beauty and heart,

Flawless in all that was given to her

And from which to never depart.

Why should not every man that she meets

Be as flawless in virtues as she,

And when between two, cupid does come

Their love forever to be.

Why should not we all believe

In this place of innocence shared,

Why should not the World be perfect

And the pain to us all be spared.
