Trigger warning! This does have a dead body in it, as well as someone freezing to death.

The air is a solid block of ice around me as I try and fail to draw in a breath. I can feel what air is left in my lungs begin to crystallize. I can only imagine the beautiful ice diamonds forming in my lungs as a tear rolls down my cheek. It freezes quickly, too, before I'm out of time. The world goes dark.

I wake with a gasp. "A dream, a dream!" I laugh, warm tears rolling down both of my cheeks. I sit up in my sleeping bag. I unzip my tent to find nothing else in the snowy clearing. My hiking group forgot me.

"Great. That's just great," I yell, tears still streaming down my cheeks. I shakily pack up my tent and the rest of my things before noticing the sky. A blizzard was rolling in. Quickly, I begin to hike down the mountain. I had noticed a log cabin back a ways that would serve as good shelter.

The blizzard hits before I'm anywhere near the cabin. The snow slams into trees with a vengeance I've never seen in anything. The wind and snow slams into my body, ripping at my clothes. It whispers pretty things into my ears. The wind says, "Lie down, Bria. Take a nice nap in the soft snow. We won't hurt you, Bria. Just trust us...."

I screw up my face and shout into the air. "NO! I won't!" I charge on, my pack on my back, until I reach the cabin. My hands and feet no longer ache from the cold, and I just hope I haven't lost them as I gently open the door.

"Oh God, no. Why. Why?"

There's a frozen corpse resting in the center of the room. It's body is curled in a fetal position, with it's long hair splayed out behind it. It's horrible face is barely visible. I try to look away, but it's reflected in a large mirror on the back wall.

I creep into the room, not having any other choice. There is a small fireplace, but no firewood. I sit with my back to the corpse, facing the mirror. I look into my own eyes, watching the mirror begin to ice over from the cold. My body and face starts to numb and every breath I take feels like I'm breathing in needles. I look into the mirror a little closer, noticing something odd about my face.

It's no longer mine. My hair lengthens and changes to a dark red. The skin over my face pulls tight and starts to crystallize.

I try to scream but nothing comes out as I realize who I'm looking at. The frozen corpse is staring back at me, laughing with no sound.

The corpse laughs at me as the world goes dark.
