A subjective feeling experienced in response to soulful music

Music has become a means

Of relieving the complex emotions

Still so tightly bottled up inside

I remember the day I fell in love with music

Or had it been love for the singer?

When the music started I could not have been more surprised

I had expected the rowdy boisterous sounds I'd always heard on TV

The song began

Two bars of gentle, fluid piano music

Played sensitively

The voice began

It wasn't harsh, or very loud

Soft and melodious

Tinged with sadness

The words were deep and meaningful

Perfectly rhymed and timed

To verbalize so perfectly the things I felt

As I continued to listen to the sad, sweet melody

I left behind the troubles of life

I escaped for a few short minutes

Into a world of soothing fantasy

The record ended

I jumped up suddenly

Feeling as if I had woken up from a dream

Sweet and bitter all at the same time

Almost involuntarily

I pressed play again...and again...and again

From that day forward, I was hooked

I entered more fully than ever

Into the deceptive and surrealistic world

I had found

--------

No Longer Lonely by Michelina Zugor inspired this one :)
