Worn to the nubs

Up go the curtains, down goes the coffee,
You're ready to begin yet-another day

On goes the T. V., down goes your mood
Doom and gloom, no hope, heads are talking,

All screaming SOMETHING that'll stand out
Dire and fire is a constant drumbeat of down

Looming disaster on T. V. and a loop
Punching your senses, battering your mind

Until even the most optimistic lose hope
Not a hoax, as some would have you believe,
But marinating in fear wears on you

Penny Scribe

You so aptly describe the state of mind of most, if not all, of us. Well done.
