With Hullabaloo 22:
In Search Of...Happy!
Is it over here? Over there?
Tell me, ‘cause I don’t know where
Gloom and doom is all I see
when I turn on my T. V, Corona or he.
I’d turn it off, but I gotta have my news
Watching sure gives me the blues
The screaming heads who run the show
flip off the high road and take the low
The newscasters always seem to gloat
for all their reports they toxic-coat.
The only thing that will change the story
is if another disaster should steal the glory.
For something positive I’m going to seek
but there’s nothing to find but bleak, bleak, bleak.

Nice work. I too agree watching the news can be a bit depressing because they report a lot of bad news. It scares a lot of people and keeps them isolated. I loved this poem though, great job.
Wed, April 29th, 2020 8:29pmIt must be tough over there in Trumpland. You'll get through it. Whether I get over another unrequited love is another matter. Good luck and stay well. I mean it. What is the worst that can happen? Another woman breaks your heart or you die of Corvid 19. We are all still poets and poetry can not be killed, despite what the critics say.
