scarred my face

face erosion, tear troughs are the scars of acid rain,

sweet spring mixes with burnt matches, in the ambient air.

maritime, maritime, poison falls from the sky, all the time,

chime, chime over the airwaves, quarentine’s extended.

prime, prime, wasted nursing a hemorrhaging heart,

time, time, lost forever, damn the aeolian process.

dime, dime, down to last one causes red shifted vision,

rhyme, rhyme, the blues away, even just for the night.

halftime, halftime, need a break from all this bullshit,

key lime, key lime scented dreams, paradise on the mind.

grime, grime, dyes the hands and cumulus clouds black,

daytime, daytime, yet no sunshine, dark like it’s midnight.

face erosion, tear troughs are the scars of acid rain,

sweet spring mixes with burnt matches, in the ambient air.

maritime, maritime, poison falls from the sky, all the time,

chime, chime over the airwaves, quarentine’s extended.

Unusual to see rhyming at the beginning of a line, but it worked really well, MW.

I've never done rhyming in the beginning for the majority of a poem, but it was a nice challenge I tell you that much. Thanks for reading Hully!
