I press soft kisses to his jaw

And trail them down until

My lips reach the steady

Thump thump

Of his heart.

I splay my fingers across his chest

And try to hold on to this moment

Even as it slips past me,

But the

Thump thump

Of his heart remains.

His hand settles over mine and he

Entwines our fingers, pulling me

Close so our hands join over the

Thump thump

Of our hearts in time.
