A woman and a supposed Director of a public library are in a meeting room sitting across from each other.

Director

Ms. Adams, thank you for coming in today. I received excellent feedback from your interview with the librarian. Welcome to the Agency.

ADAMS

Thank you, but since when is the Public Library an Agency?

Director

Well, the position you sought out for doesn't exist.

Adams

What?

Director

Let me explain. I manage a highly classified, special operations, command team in the basement of the Public Library.

Adams

This is crazy!

Director

Hear me out. Our mission is to assess and prevent crimes before they happen. We're like the team in Minority Report.

Adams

Please don't tell me you have a tank of precogs.

Director

Instead of precogs, we use social media monitoring and analysis of other intelligent sources to prevent crimes.

Adams

So, what makes me the perfect candidate for this job?

Director

We sought you out for your high emotional intelligence. We need someone who can process emotional information and use it to predict crimes.

Adams

Wait a minute! I'm the one who applied for the librarian job. I don't remember anyone seeking me out.

Director

We've been following you for a while and truly admire the way you handle yourself among your social peers. A person with your level of soft skills is difficult to find. When we decided we wanted to pursue you, we had intercepted one of your web page requests for the librarian position and presented our mock opening.

Adams

You're a stalker!

Director

On the contrary, I'm the director of a ghost agency and use whatever power to make the world a safer place.

Adams

If this is such a hush-hush top-secret organization, why didn't I go through any psychological or polygraph tests?

Director

You did and didn't even know it. We used non-invasive techniques during the screening process. When you sat across the librarian during the interview, hidden cameras were capturing your every detail. Instead of tethering you to a polygraph, our high-tech miniature cameras are powerful enough to zoom into your retina blood vessels, record blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity.

Adams

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Director

Let’s face it. We should all start living like we are in the 21st century. Let me introduce you to the operations team.
The Director leads Adams into a larger conference room that is occupied by his staff. The team members are dramatically waving at the wall on one side of the room.

Adams

Why are they gesturing in front of that wall?

Director

Classified, need-to-know information is only viewable on that touch screen wall from a pair of "for-your-eyes-only" wireless encrypted contact lenses.

Adams

What if the lenses fall into the wrong pair of eyes?

Director

Each lens is a device that uses biometric scanning technology authorizing the user to see what they need to see. Let me introduce you to Paige. Paige is our social media profiler.

Adams

Yes, we've met already. Have you filled that librarian position yet?

Paige

Nice to meet you again, and I don't believe the librarian position is available anymore.

Adams

What's with the guy in the orange jumpsuit?

Director

That is Janitor Jones. Don't let his eccentric sense of style fool you. We like to call him DC for damage control. He has a knack for cleaning up after us when our operations get a bit messy. And, here's our Principal Technologist, A. She's an inventor like Q in James Bond.

A

Here are your contact lenses. Welcome to the team!

Director

Yes, welcome aboard! DC, take Adams to her tank.

Adams

WHAT?!

Sadly, Ms. Adams is exploited for her high intelligence to serve the narcissistic director’s own strategic needs of his rogue operations. He knows by interviewing her, she is strong-willed and would not agree with some of the black ops he is planning. Rather than risk losing her, he sends her to the think tank against her will where she will work and live out her remaining life.
