And the judgement continues based on religion...

I had been planning on doing a piece on Native American spirituality, but my mind was unexpectedly high-jacked by unsolicited Christian material which was recently placed in my PO box.

The constitutional fact is, all US post offices are federal buildings, as such the seperation of Church and State is to be adhered to, and religious material should not be distributed inside.

But, that isn't the topic of this article.

Inside my box was a elaborate full color booklet entitled: Covid-19 What's Next.

At first glance I thought  it might be something provided by local government, updating us here in California of future planning involving the economy and health care. Instead, I recieved yet more bible based stuff going on about sin and fallen humanity.

Of course, that old devil Satan was mentioned along with Eve, how she listened to him, thus ending paradise. Same old misogynistic riff about the disobedient and stupid woman. I just LOVE that.

And as usual, the source of Satan was brushed aside, denying the fact that their God is the source of all, and a few pargraphs further along, the authors praise him as the source of everything. Fly in the ointment...that dirty thing NEVER leaves.

What a clueless God to praise and worship huh? Something else is the source of sin...not him...makes an intelligent person...well... more intelligent by turning away from this type of  junk...that is unless you want to mock it.

And finally we come to the savior, the apex of this god dominant religion.

Jesus Christ died because of the sin human beings embraced ( the sin his father had nothing to do with) and since I do enjoy poking holes in this outdated religion, we come to what was also quoted in the lengthy booklet.

John 3:16, where the father gave his only begotten son, (Adam doesn't count ) to redeem rotten humanity for its sin. Then in the next sentence we get 'the creator of the world was the one on the cross' which means it wasn't the son, but the father.

The whole idea almost reeks of sadistic incest... and is it confusing? You betcha it is.

It's insulting to write of a terrible time due to a highly contagious and rapidly evolving virus in the context of sin.

It's disgusting when you think of the people who have died.

Getting this in my mail box made me very angry, and I've ranted before here with my writing of Christians and their smug certainty. I would tend to do it less if these childish people would just keep their non-sensical bible based dogma to themselves.

And I will continue to repeat, Christianity, along with other archaic god dominant religion, needs to fade from human consciousness as a part existence. It is NOT spirituality...

Hear! Hear! well said. No doubt the religious sector will all be bleating like sheep and telling us how it is all a test from God, to test our faith! Well actually if I did have faith (Which I don't) then it would be whittled away by now, that our benevolent, all merciful God, gave us this wretched virus in the first place and did sweet F.A about, it other than sit on his big fat arse and watched us die, all because we didn't fall to our knees and pray to him, while he strokes his own ego in his well lubed, right hand.

Well, what can you say? Women are at least evil, men like Jesus apparently are just stupid... No, but seriously, I feel disgusted people use a pandemic to spread their religion, whatever that it. They're all fake, god(s) don't exist and viruses don't give a fuck about religion. But I guess you can blame a pandemic like this on a random woman who ate an apple in a fairytale if you want to. Next time, I'll blame Cersei Lannister or Little Red Riding Hood

I was raised a Christian, but I met a crossroad when it came to condemnation and spirituality. A virus doesn't hate or judge. You only find those things put forth in religion. Thanks for your comment helmu.

Well said, LE. They'll take anything that they can to twist and turn to fit in with their own beliefs.

Dear Mr. Berry,
I would like to point out a few errors you have made in your argument. Firstly, Christians are misogynistic, as you claim. The Bible emphasizes the value of women many times, including in Proverbs 31:25-26, Psalm 46:5, and Proverbs 31:10, to name a few. Secondly, the reason Jesus is God's only begotten (keyword begotten) son is that his other sons were made in another way. You have a biological father but Jesus did not. Adam was created from dust, which you'll find in Genesis. You will find also that there is no incest involved, as God the Father never had physical sexual relations with anyone. As for Christians explaining the Corona Virus as a test of Faith or the sign of the End Times, this is all accurate. While nihilists and atheists change their minds constantly on what is true, the Word of God remains constant. As Jesus says in Matthew 24:8, before the end of the world there will be a series of terrible events, much like birth pangs, coming closer and closer until the end of the age.

How can you say that the Bible is not correct in its teaching when it has literally predicted Israel becoming a nation again hundreds of years before it actually did so? And when miracles are at work every day in the lives of every believer on this Earth? When my father began tithing ten percent of his income to the church his business's (my grandfather's before his) income increased ten percent as well--don't tell me miracles don't happen today. When I prayed for a friend in eighth grade and then opened my eyes afterward my friend of three years now was standing above me, asking to hang out. These things don't just happen.

The most uncomprehensible statement you have made is that religion involving God is not spiritual...I am at a loss for words.

I have nothing to gain from sharing this with you, only that I would suggest you talk to a pastor or attend a sermon, virtually or in-person, and try to heal whatever wound you are battling. I don't know your past but can see plainly that you are very angry. I want to tell you that there is a meaning to this life, and that if you are in the market for everlasting joy, literally all you have to do is accept Christ Jesus died on the cross for your sins and proclaim it with your mouth and believe it with your heart. No human sacrifice, no life of sainthood, that's it, for everlasting life in Heaven isn't something earned but gifted to those who are willing to receive. And I want that for you because before Jesus left he gave us the Great Commission, begging us all to spread Christianity to all the corners of the Earth and teach people to follow in his steps. God bless you and you have my love and prayers,

Ava Rose Weisberg

All I can say in return is, the Bible was a religious construct of men, used for their benefit These men of the past brought 'God' forth in their image, and because of it women have suffered. Men can never speak for women, because they aren't women, Abraham wasn't a female, neither was Jesus. Christianity is a plague that still silences women through archaic ways of thinking. Thank you for your comment Ava.
