Yarning

It can’t be very comfortable,

the place he’s made his bed,

and yet there is contentment

in his body and his head.

Those balls of yarn are lumpy,

and this cat they do surround;

look now at his sleeping face,

for there a smile is found.

He’s dreaming of the fun and games,

with wool he loves to play,

those strands that twist and tangle

can really make his day.

While he lies there sleeping,

a wool ball in his paws,

you might hear cat-like laughter

mixed up with feline snores.

Leave him to his kitten thoughts,

his tail flicks in his sleep;

ears and whiskers twitching

for his enjoyment runs so deep.

I can just imagine the tangles if my four got their paws on some wool. Thanks for reading, Mike.

Thanks, Christy. I can remember the way my Mom's cat would play with her wool.
