His sheets

smelled like cigarettes

I sunk

into them

wrapped in tobacco

 and old smoke

I waited

for my eyes

to fall tired

and close

drifting off

for a few hours

to dream before

being stirred

awake by

sunbeams

peeking through

white curtains

even after

good-byes

I could still

smell the stale

oak and cedar

from his sheets

 on my skin

Great description - it really does linger on your skin.
