A reminder to be kind to yourself despite the harshness of this world.

My love, be soft

Even when your extremities turn purple and your soul dances around like lit fire

Momentarily swayed; your knees fold under

Like a collapsing ant colony, crumbling into little bits of grey dust

Free falling, can you feel the wind combing through your hair?

Stroking, calming, whispering feigned reassurances

Pathetic. You believe every word.

My love, be kind

An empty promise; it is not a weakness

Scarlett shadows reflecting off the red lantern, fragilely encapsulating this dark space

Grip on tightly to this battered stick, cast them away

So they don’t completely submerge you under these ocean eyes

Leaving you breathless with their lies

My love, be you

You’re free, take flight
