A Dragon In The Daisies

There’s a dragon in the daisies,

it’s very clear to see;

just glance outside your window

if you’re not believing me.

He really is a giant,

a pretty fearsome sight,

until you see what’s on his face -

a look of pure delight.

He’s colored like the grass around,

a very verdant green,

he clearly does not care one bit

about his being seen.

He’s picked a bunch of daisies

and he takes a massive sniff

and only when he does that

do I begin to think, ‘What if...?’

The dragon’s nose is tickled

and he gives one enormous sneeze

and only when he’s finished

does he begin to wheeze.

The smoke is my only warning

before there’s a lick of flame

that scorches up my outside walls -

the dragon’s not to blame.

I run out with the tissues

and he passes me the blooms

then he takes off to the sky

and away he quickly zooms.

This dragon has now gone away

with all his allergies

and left me with the charring

that’s the remnants of his sneeze.
