Complaints... why do they never come in ones.

Oh, For Mono Sound

Is it just me that finds

the only things in mono

are the scarcely made

Mostly I live in a world

of surround-sound,

for there’s no shortage

of insults

and a constant barrage

of complaints.

There’s no escape

from the sounds of disparagement,

the condemnation,

the rationalization of all of my wrongs.

Guilt in quadrophonic!

Don’t misunderstand me

for it is not that I don’t want to listen.

I’ll pay attention and take it all in

but it would be so much

easier to do so

in monophonic.

There is more attentiveness in negativity than in positivity. Personally, I'd rather have the sound of silence. It worked for Simon and Garfunkel.

Yes, it can be the most peaceful option, that's for sure. But I don't agree that I pay more attention to the negative than the positive. It's just that I get a lot more of it.
Thanks for reading.
