Title : Cigarette Vows Part.2 (feat. Simiso Doyisa & Sbongiseni Mabizela)
By : Quinton Tebogo Makunyane
Cigarette Vows
The lighter goes up in smoke as my soul
Is being lifted like a heavy laod of broken dreams,
false hope and world filled with nothing but misery..
I am not sure if I still want to go ahead with this
My lungs are still unpolluted by the smoke
My spirit is unscathed by trauma
depression seeks it's way into my soul
flick flick, the lighter still goes up in flames
I am still devoted to devouring my sorrows
In nothing but the smoke of pure bliss
I have these scars, you see, they working
Tearing my soul from my adequate flesh
All the nights that memory convinced us
That we are meant for more than mere
human existence, flick flick..
Flicking the lighter always came either with the difficulty of dealing with the demons I had put to sleep or bliss of perfect euphoria
I was either singing songs that reminded me of big old aunty gloria..
I puff I puff I never passed it was just you and and my ever so ugly past..
I puffed I puffed would I ever pass
Its was just me and you
You always stayed true
Even when the days were ever blue..
I puffed I puffed I finally passed
I'm forever grateful for momentarily
Making me forget about my gruesome past
Cigarette vows,
I'll always stay true to you.
You were always there for me, when the world didn't have a care for me.
I was always an outcast ,but with you I found a home. Your the first thing I think about in the morning, and the only one who kisses me goodnight.
As I put you on my lips , I inhale all your bliss. "They say cigarettes will kill you ", but you gave me life . I'll always puff like there's no tomorrow, I'll never pass because it will lead to sorrow.
Cigarrete vows, I loved you from the start. When I choke on the smoke I know I'm alive. So thank you old friend , u were always there for me .
