Isolation's your fate

Everyone's a million miles away

When your feet never stray

In a world gone astray.

When your conscience is aware

In the face of cruel affairs

You are beyond repair

Yours is despair.

How shameful is sight

When everyone is blind.

This is one of those poems that seems to have a deeper and deeper meaning with each reading. Brilliant work, Christy.

Melancholic Wisdom

Definitely very relevant to the current state of the world, when everyone is blinded by something almost nothing good will follow, well done Christy

It's true, everyone is blind to something. No one is open-minded to everything; no one accepts everything as truth or valid; no one knows about everything going on in the world. There is no person with the gift of omniscience, therefore, we each have our blind spots. Some see better than others, but no one is perfect.
Still, we also have ears, yet how many people use them to listen?

That's the problem, we have the gift of seeing, learning, understanding, but there are times when we choose not to. Thank you for reading, Jeff!

It's like when people turn a blind eye to something, it causes pain to others, yet because of metaphorically speaking of a person being blind, they just don't want to see what turning a blind eye does. Sight means nothing if you don't do the right thing with it. Keeping eyes closed, the right thing will never be done. Powerful writing Christy. That last verse is killer!
