THE HAUNTED COLLECTION

----BY SRINJOY CHATTERJEE

PART-2

So, as I mentioned earlier, I contacted Henry Riordan, the best shaman of New York and he told me that he would visit our house the following week, which was quite a relief for me considering the recent circumstances.

As promised by Mr. Riordan, he visited our house the next week and did all the necessary rituals to make the evil spirits leave our house and even assured that never ever those spirits would be visiting our residence again.

But I don’t think all that affected the evil spirits too much because what happened the following month was worse than what human brain can think of.

I, with four friends of mine visited the famous Bannerman Castle of New York because our school gave us a task of collecting pictures of castles which had to be clicked by us and not downloaded from any website. So five of us teamed up and planned to visit the Bannerman Castle because it was more famous than any other castle in New York.

So, as planned we set off on our journey and reached there within five or six hours. As soon as we reached there, we started exploring the castle and taking pictures of it.

After a lot of walking, we reached the library and started flipping through the pages of those old, ancient books. We were so engrossed in reading that we never noticed that we were the only human souls over there in the library. Suddenly the lights went off and we started running around in the dark, searching for the exit door. Right at that time, we heard the doors creak and they slammed shut, giving us the fear of our life. We started screaming out our lungs but in vain because little did we know that all the people had fled out when the lights went off.

After all that running, we were all tired and sweaty, so we sat in a corner trying to relax (although it was impossible in all that mad fear). Just about a minute later, the door slightly opened with a creaking sound and an old man with a trembling voice called us outside with a lamp in hand. After we got out from the library, he told us in a frightened manner that this castle was haunted and we should get out quickly, and he also offered to navigate us to the main exit door. So we started walking and he carried the lamp in his hand so that we could see in the dark. He walked a bit ahead of us, and after walking for a while, a turning came and so he turned from there but since we were walking slowly, we came to the turning after a few seconds, but we could not see him anywhere after turning towards the lane in which he turned. We started searching for him but could not see him anywhere, thus again retraced our path back to the library. Just as we reached the library, we saw that old man standing right there and he slowly said, “I said you all to get out of here, right? So why are you still here?” and right then bats flew out from his back and he started laughing loudly, and suddenly we all saw that there was only a skeleton standing in front of us. That was enough to make us faint over there and when we again came back to our senses, we saw that we were lying in that same place, but the lights had restored again.

We all quickly ran to the main exit door and got out of there as fast as we could, and returned home safely after that and told our parents what all happened over there, and they were very frightened after listening to all this. God only knows when will all this ghastly things stop happening with me.

END OF PART-2
