Not many people can honestly admit thier view about racism, even they appear to be friendly or supportive to others. I think confront it can lead the door more open for handling. We are all human beings after all. ALL Lives Matter.

Colors Fight

I am not red and I am not brown.
I am not black and certainly ain't white.
I am simply dull-yellow with fleckles;
the one, like a rotten banana, that
neither looks bright nor tastes sweet,
the one that tends to be the last
to be picked from the grocery shelf.
Still I think: I am better than any color
that walks and yeps about in the town.
'Cause my Mom and her Mom
and many more her Moms said,
"Yellow is the best! Especially,
the dull-yellow with fleckles."
Oh, how I believe her like I believe in God!
For good measure, I had better also water
the green, orange and pink down.
They are too bright and colorful, you know?
But luckily I am not the ghostly white
who just fearfully reject all other lights/lives.

When we talk about the color of the skin,
Which race hasn't been taught theirs is the best?
What trust? What love?
While our hearts are all burnt in What the Hell,
and know very well that this is prejudice,
and it is going to lead us to no paradise
but to toll our own bell!
Why kill? Why sneer?

Don't know what happened to tolerance, acceptance and empathy. Well said, Derina.

I think they still exist in everyone, we just need to let them out. I do think the news does oppositive effect on us, all it shows and promotes is the downside of human nature and it makes us forget the goodside exists.

I liked the bit about the banana Derina, they call you mellow yellow. Left wing crazies trying to start a race war!
